The Broadway Animal Hospital Area

Broadway Animal Hospital is located on one of the main commercial streets running North and South through Edgewater. It is just blocks away from several beaches including one of Chicago’s most well-known beach, North Shore.

Associate Veterinarian

Broadway Animal Hospital has been serving the pet community of Edgewater, Loyola University, and surrounding areas for over 80 years. We pride ourselves on being the friendly & caring neighborhood veterinarian where a warm welcome always awaits you. We’re adding an associate veterinarian to our practice as we grow!

We have years of experience providing high-level veterinary care and continue to embrace progressive medicine and support our doctors’ niche passions. We are excited to add all new equipment (including ultrasound), a brand new surgery suite and 8 exam rooms!

We welcome veterinarians at all levels of experience, and will happily mentor new graduates. We are open to doctors looking for full or part-time opportunities.

The Associate Veterinarian will need an educational background of at least:

A Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM/VMD) degree, or equivalent, from an accredited university.

Veterinary Technician

Broadway Animal Hospital is a full-service veterinary hospital offering compassionate care for you and your pets in Chicago, IL, and beyond.

Our practice is excited to expand our team! We are looking for an individual who is good at communicating, organization, and multi-tasking, and who is ready to work in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate would have at least 1-2 years’ previous experience in veterinary medicine.

Essential Functions:

  • Able to perform basic animal handling and restraint
  • Be able to accurately position for radiographs
  • Assist veterinarians in the practice of veterinary medicine and surgery
  • Perform in-hospital lab testing and prepare specimens for outside labs
  • Assist veterinarians in outpatient exams by taking histories, vital signs, and weights as well as providing client education
  • Collect and prepare diagnostic samples
  • Anesthesia monitoring
  • Assist in maintaining practice equipment
  • Assist veterinarian performing surgery
  • Assist veterinarians in any other assigned tasks
  • Maintain cleanliness of surgery suite, treatment area, and exams rooms for all surfaces
  • Support DEA compliance as it relates to the role
  • Any other duties as assigned

Requirements/Qualifications

  • Previous veterinary medicine experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to lift patients and carry equipment up to 40 pounds; ability to lift patients or carry equipment over 40 pounds with assistance
  • Practice OSHA safety techniques including proper PPE
  • Computer skills, MS office applications, etc.
